Shantell S. Nashatka represents those facing issues of family law in the Hampton Roads area, including Virginia Beach and Norfolk, on the Peninsula and Virginia’s Eastern Shore. With almost 15 years of experience as an attorney and previous work as a paralegal for a family law group and a clerk for the Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Ms. Nashatka is highly qualified to handle all matters of family law, including: adoption, agreements, assisted conception, contested/uncontested divorce, custody and visitation, military divorce, non-parent rights, post-divorce, same-sex couples, and child support.

A cum laude graduate of Old Dominion University, Ms. Nashatka earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2000, then went on to the Regent University School of Law to earn a Juris Doctor in 2003. Because of her extensive knowledge, experience and education in family law, Ms. Nashatka’s peers selected her as one of the Legal Elite for Virginia Business magazine in the Young Attorney category. In December 2010, Virginia Business magazine featured her, and as an intelligent speaker, Ms. Nashatka has presented on the legal and ethical requirements for responding to requests for records.

Ms. Nashatka is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Friends of the Virginia Opera, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar and the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association. Trained to use a collaborative model in family law, she has worked extensively with those facing settlement negotiation such as separation agreements, premarital agreements and custody arrangements, and regularly deals with issues of complex custody cases.
